Duncan Wong is coming to SF next month. I've been thinking about taking his 4-day workshop. What he does, based on the Gaiam videos, is beautiful. I'm curious as to how he could possibly teach what he practices.
I've heard mixed reviews. One friend, who has a history of eastern Buddhism and martial arts, took his workshop last time he was here and loved it. Two new acquaintances, near strangers, told me that they took it and it was terrible -- they wanted their money back, and said people actually walked out in the middle of it.
Anyone else have experiences with him? Thoughts before I decide whether or not to invest 2 days' work and some $? Thanks.

Re: Thoughts on Duncan Wong?
Sun, April 20, 2008 - 10:39 PMI took a workshop with him that I loved at a time in my practice that I was ready for it. He adds an element of strengthening and toning that is hard to attain with yoga. However, I think almost the people got injured and left the workshop. Those of us who stayed were all pretty young. Also, his adjustments are brutal. As a yoga teacher, I feel it is somewhat unethical to adjust in that way without checking in. At one point while pushing me deeper in an already deep pose, he looked at me with a big smile and said, "that hurts, doesn't it...good" With all that, his fusion sequencing is really fun and pushed my body to a new place.
